Claude Levi-Strauss: Narrative Theory

Propp's theories of character roles are not portrayed in our video, due to one sole characters (Rosa-Leigh) being portrayed on her own.

Levi-Strauss however can be linked to our video, as the basic world we are going back to and filming, doesn't represent the modern times, but the primitive societies Levi-Strauss said we shared elements with.
The video's record of nature is similar to the record of nature tribes and more cultural and suburban people are used to, not the modern day businessman.
The binary opposites mentioned in his theory can also be linked to locations and shots used. The natural close up, similar to what we see with our own eyes, contrasted with the post-modern overlaying of moving images, links the normal, conventional shots with the new, modern, digital shots, contrasting a pure form such as nature, with the advanced technology being invented today. Inside and outside society are also being explored through the various exterior and interior shots we plan to use in our video. The interior loft shots are unlike the natural, green exterior shots, making them noticeably opposite.
